When we created our CCW Infographic, we had originally intended to find and show the number of active concealed weapons licenses in each state. While this idea was really interesting, the data was hard to come by. Since each state issues its own CCW license, there is no one database containing this information. We found a really helpful website, Legally Armed, but much of the data was from different years and the sources were not verifiable. We felt that the data did not have enough integrity to make an infographic out of it, but it was still really interesting data and we wanted to share it. Below is a table containing the concealed weapons permits in each state. The table below gives the year and source for the data. If there is nothing in the source column, or it references an email or phone call, this data was from Legally Armed.
